Susan Spaniol - "Works On Paper"

"Making marks on paper is the imperative of my art-as natural as 'drawing' a breath. Like breathing, I value drawing as a primary human impulse that is direct, intimate, and intensely physical. When I draw, I seek a precarious of my spontaneous impulses within a harmonious structure. I hope to evoke an uneasy sense of equipoise representing balance a world both chaotic and sublime."
